My Weekend in Review

Hello all, welcome back! I hope you all had a great weekend. This weekend was a very relaxing one for us. We went to the pool Saturday and decided that pasta making would be a big hit this weekend and we ended up making two different Italian style dinners.

Our first pasta making extravaganza started on Friday evening. We started with cutting up a couple ciabatta rolls into little bit size slices. We then dipped them into olive oil and vinegar. So yummy.
This recipe called for pecorino romano cheese, so below is a picture of me grating it, and of course Dray was right by my side because who doesn't love the smell of pecorino romano cheese.

The finished product was yummy and VERY rich. We got this recipe from a recipe book for two, and I am pretty sure this could have served four people. All in all it was a very good pasta and because of the cheese a definite repeat(:

Saturday I forgot to take any pictures because I was having too much fun. We went swimming for a few hours and then came home and got ready for dinner. We went to Bistro 135, It's a newer restaurant in our downtown. If you have grown up in Tracy, getting new restaurants downtown is like christmas morning. The mac and cheese appetizer with bacon is one of my favorites and The strawberry salad is so refreshing.  After dinner we went home and spent some time with Dray, before we called it a night.

Sunday, Dray of course woke us up ready to play. So we went into the family room and turned on the TV. All of the sudden we saw a cute little face peering into our window and we thought it was the cutest thing ever, and Dray thought he was pretty cool spying on his parents. LOL..... We think everything he does is cute.

We then set out to my brother's baseball game in Ripon, It is so fun getting to watch my little brother, I am a little PROUD of him (:

My mom was in Tahoe for the weekend so we were lucky enough to be able to hang out with Colby for a few hours before my mom got back in town to pick him up. He is such great company and always happens to fix something while he's here (WHOOOHOOOO). love you Colby

Next on our Sunday to do list was to head to the store to have groceries for the week, I love the feeling of having groceries stalked in the fridge. Who else is that way? When we got home we got straight to cooking. Since our last pasta was so heavy we decided a light pasta for tonight. This was a lemon garlic chicken pasta.

I am feeling like the weekend went by a little too fast.....

For my loved ones close to me that dealt with a hard weekend, know that you have lots of people around you that love you and are here for you. I know we won't make it easier, but stay strong. I love you

Isaiah 33:2

LORD, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress
