Tina Louise

Once a month I am going to highlight someone that means a lot the world to me.

Let me tell you about the woman who gave me life, Tina Louise.

She is my role model in so many ways, she has taught me just about everything I know in life and continually hear her voice in the back of my head while going through situations in my day to day life. I always tell her when the time comes that I have my own kids, my biggest fear is that I won't remember to teach them all the things she has taught me. I love her to the ends of the earth and no words are enough to tell her how proud I am that she is my mom.

MOM,
Thank you for always making sure we are taken care of. It has not gone unnoticed that you have always put your kids before yourself. Thanks for the hugs that make the world stop and comfort knowing I have the very best mom a girl could ask for her in her corner. You are such a strong willed woman and I love the way you make things happen in life. You have taught me if you want things in life go get it. I love you mom.

First and fore most her kids are her life, and we kind of LOVE that about her.

Emmy is her girl
She was there planning every step of our perfect wedding day. What she did to make sure our wedding was beautiful was beyond our imagination. She is one very talented girlfriend (:
This was the day of my shower and she and my auntie Lori had been planning for months. The last few nights before the shower she kept texting me that she couldn't sleep she was so excited. This shows her true love for seeing the ones she loves being so happy. This day turned out so beautiful, I felt like I was dreaming. I might even have to do a whole post on it,Wink Wink.....
We had just gotten back from doing my hair trial at Wine and Roses. She laughed so hard because it took about an hour to get my hair done and I was so set that I did not want matt to see my hair that I had my mom take out all the bobby pins out of my hair on the way to lunch where we were meeting Matt. She did it without a thought because she has always taken the time to make sure my feelings are taken care of.

The night before I became a MRS. she was so much fun to be with. We stayed up until about twelve talking about what we thought the day was going to be like. Oh did I mention this was her birthday. I am so lucky she let me share her day. On another note, Thank you to the Lucatero family for these fun socks!!!!
The day I married my prince she was the absolute best. She made sure everything went as planned and didn't make me lift a finger. I did not have to worry about a thing because mommy doll had it all under control. What would I do without you?

She has sensitive sides, emotional sides and my favorite her silly sides... There is no one that knows how to have more fun than she does. She is the life of the party, always.
Like when we switch faces from time to time hahahah
This is a little bit scary.

Every year she lines up my presents because she knows it just drives my inexistent patience CRAZY.... LOVE YOU DOLL

Her grandparents hold a special place in her heart and always will. While I had a lot of great time with my great grandpa, I did not have as much time with my great grandma. I remember her sweet hugs and her beautiful blanket she made me, but not so much of her personality. My mom tells me stories all the time and through those stories I get to know my great grandma better and I get to see the love my mom and her grandma shared. I usually get the feeling I have the same love with my grammie.

She absolutely LOVES her Giants. I doubt there has been a game that she has not watched in years. She also could give you a play by play of the Crawford family...... She thinks they are absolutely adorable, and I would have to agree. Who doesn't love a cute little family that just gushes love for one another.

Her parents are her heart!!! She tells me all the time how much she loves them. I also love how much fun they have as a family. The vacation stories they had as a family when my mom was younger are unbelievably funny. I love to see the love they all have for one another.

She shares a Cinco De Mayo birthday with her soon to be daughter in-law

And you always need a best girlfriend by your side

Mom, there is no one more amazing than you....

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient; love is kind. Love is not jealous; is not proud; is not conceited; does not act foolishly; is not selfish; is not easily provoked to anger; keeps no record of wrongs; takes no pleasure in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

Taco Tuesday

Welcome back!!!

Mexican is my absolute favorite, like I could eat bean and cheese burritos for every meal, so tonight for dinner we're recreating tacos.

Go grab your ingredients and cook along with me.
I decided to try a healthier version and use ground turkey instead of beef, red and green bell pepper, onion, beans, lettuce, and taco seasoning.

When making tacos I try to have all the toppings cut and out on the plate. That way when the meat is ready so are my tacos.
In a large saucepan I added the turkey, onions, bell pepper, and taco seasoning. As this cooked I warmed up the beans and started heating the tortillas while making sure to stir the meat.
Once everything is cooked, your ready to plate. If your trying to make this even healthier you could also use spinach or wheat tortillas, or even better use lettuce as your shell for your taco.
When having Mexican food, how can you resist chips and salsa.
This was such a fast yummy dinner, let me know your special add on to the traditional taco.

I hope you all are off to a great week

My Weekend in Review

Hello all, welcome back! I hope you all had a great weekend. This weekend was a very relaxing one for us. We went to the pool Saturday and decided that pasta making would be a big hit this weekend and we ended up making two different Italian style dinners.

Our first pasta making extravaganza started on Friday evening. We started with cutting up a couple ciabatta rolls into little bit size slices. We then dipped them into olive oil and vinegar. So yummy.
This recipe called for pecorino romano cheese, so below is a picture of me grating it, and of course Dray was right by my side because who doesn't love the smell of pecorino romano cheese.

The finished product was yummy and VERY rich. We got this recipe from a recipe book for two, and I am pretty sure this could have served four people. All in all it was a very good pasta and because of the cheese a definite repeat(:

Saturday I forgot to take any pictures because I was having too much fun. We went swimming for a few hours and then came home and got ready for dinner. We went to Bistro 135, It's a newer restaurant in our downtown. If you have grown up in Tracy, getting new restaurants downtown is like christmas morning. The mac and cheese appetizer with bacon is one of my favorites and The strawberry salad is so refreshing.  After dinner we went home and spent some time with Dray, before we called it a night.

Sunday, Dray of course woke us up ready to play. So we went into the family room and turned on the TV. All of the sudden we saw a cute little face peering into our window and we thought it was the cutest thing ever, and Dray thought he was pretty cool spying on his parents. LOL..... We think everything he does is cute.

We then set out to my brother's baseball game in Ripon, It is so fun getting to watch my little brother, I am a little PROUD of him (:

My mom was in Tahoe for the weekend so we were lucky enough to be able to hang out with Colby for a few hours before my mom got back in town to pick him up. He is such great company and always happens to fix something while he's here (WHOOOHOOOO). love you Colby

Next on our Sunday to do list was to head to the store to have groceries for the week, I love the feeling of having groceries stalked in the fridge. Who else is that way? When we got home we got straight to cooking. Since our last pasta was so heavy we decided a light pasta for tonight. This was a lemon garlic chicken pasta.

I am feeling like the weekend went by a little too fast.....

For my loved ones close to me that dealt with a hard weekend, know that you have lots of people around you that love you and are here for you. I know we won't make it easier, but stay strong. I love you

Isaiah 33:2

LORD, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress

Friday Favorites

Hello all, are you as excited for this weekend as I am?
Today I am going to be sharing 6 of my summer favorites with you all.

1.  Perfume- is probably one of my favorite beauty products ever!!!!!! I would have a different perfume for each day of the week if I could. My current perfume is Tender Romance. It is extra special because it was in the basket of goodies matt gave me the morning of our wedding. It is such a beautiful fresh floral sent for summer.
 Tender Romance

2. The beach- One my absolute favorite places to be is the beach, it so relaxing and calming. The smell and noise of the the waves crashing onto the shore is so sweet to my senses. We have yet to go to a local beach this summer, so here's a pic of me and the ocean in the Amalfi Coast.

This day we took a boat to Capri

3. Rompers- they are such an easy an cute outfit to through on in the summer. This one I received as a gift from my brother and his fiance` Karryssa. It is so comfortable and light.

My Romper is this style in red.

4. Its a 10 leave in conditioner- This is a must have during any season for me, but especially during the summer when your hair gets dried out and after swimming you need to get a brush through it- this leave in conditioner is a hair saver (: It also smells great.

5. Image skincare tinted SPF.- This is nice because it's in all in one when going for a walk, quick errands, and to the beach. The tinted moisturizer gives you just a little bit of coverage so you don't feel the need for make up on the quick out the door summer days!

6. Girl time- I'll take girl time anytime, but its extra special in the summer when you are outside with this beautiful view. I was fortunate enough to be able to spend a few hours with my mom and grandma at winery called Garre Vineyards. The food was delicious and the company was even better.
This was our view while walking back to the car.

We started with a yummy fresh Caesar salad

They had a wood burning oven ..... so of course I had to order the pizza!! I miss Italy pizza (:

The three of us enjoying each others company, we are so incredibly lucky to have one another.

Proverbs 11:14 "Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety."

Let me know below a few of your summer favorites, Have a great weekend. Talk to you all Monday

Day Dreaming....

Happy Thursday and welcome back to my blog, today I am going to start a series called Day dreaming. Dreaming is important. Having goals and hopes for the future is what keeps you pushing through hard times and excited for what’s ahead. Therefore my day dreaming series will be talking about what inspired me that week. It will be all types of inspirations- home ideas, food creations, clothing/style, healthy lifestyle, Fitness, & Travel. Sometimes they will be ideas I can act on right away other times they will be goals for the far future.

This week I have been inspired to have a healthy lifestyle. This is broad, I know because it’s a whole way of life. But I am in need of a lifestyle change. I have been on a whirlwind of wedding, honeymoon, cheer camp, and two weeks off of work. I need to get back into a healthy routine for my body and my soul. I want to feel refreshed in the morning when I wake up, Instead of feeling groggy the whole day. I want to go to bed at night knowing that I was successful at fitting as much into my day as I can. I’ve read the quote before, "Everyone has the same twenty-four hours in a day, It’s what you choose to do with it that makes your life yours.” I think this quote really speaks to my day dream telling me to push myself and tackle this goal.  This is not an overnight goal so I will be taking baby steps by first making sure I do at least 30-45 minutes of exercise. Secondly I want to limit the time I aimlessly spend on my phone. Thirdly I want to eat as many meals from home as I can.

By doing this I hope I can feel like I am leading my day instead of my day taking control of me. I want to fill my days with being in the moment and making the most of the twenty-four hours I am given. Wish me luck, next Thursday I’ll check back in with you!

Comment below leaving me what goals you set to better yourself?

Talk to you soon

What's Up Wednesday

Today I'm linking up with a few of my favorite bloggers MelShay, and Sheaffer for their What's Up Wednesday link-up!

What we’re eating this week:
We have not made it to the store this week, so we have been eating left overs from our BBQ last Monday.

What I’m reminiscing about:
I have been day dreaming about our slide we had over the fourth of July, it was soooooo much fun, of course the people around us made it that much better(:

What I’m loving:
I’m loving my girls… We went out to celebrate my birthday, and went to a piano bar. It was nothing I was expecting, so much fun. Thanks Gabi for setting it up.
What we’ve been up to:
I have had the last two weeks off from work, so we are just getting back in the swing of things this week. So happy to be see all those smiling faces at the gym!!! We also headed to the movies last night to see the secret life of pets. It was so adorable! It made us miss our little guy.
We were wondering what Dray was doing while we were at the movies (;
We were hoping he wasn't tearing up his bed like he did when he was a pup.......

What I’m dreading:
Getting back on a work out routine. Once I get on a routine I love it, it's just super hard for me to start one. I’m sure some of you can relate.

What I’m working on:
Finishing my class I’m currently taking.

What I’m excited about:
I am excited to be back at work!!! These girls and their families truly become part of my heart and after two weeks I miss their cute little faces and stories being apart of my day.

What I’m watching/reading:
I’m currently reading my schoolbooks… nothing fun there so I’ll spare you the details.

I have been watching the Bachelorette, because I can’t miss a season. Although I think Jojo is a doll, I feel like the season is a little boring…. But I will watch until the end.

What I’m listening to:
Jessie James Decker is one of my favorites and her new music video came out, so I have been listening to her song Lights Down Low
What I’m wearing:
I’m back to work so my day-to-day outfit consists of gym clothes, but I'll share my outfit I wore to my birthday celebration.
